Requirements for Venezuelans
This is set to change from 2022 with the launch of the European Travel Information and Authorization System. ETIAS is being introduced to boost safety and security across Schengen Area countries.
Once ETIAS becomes mandatory, Venezuelan passport holders will be required to apply for an ETIAS for France before departure.

All applicants from Venezuela must meet the France ETIAS requirements detailed below in order to be eligible.
ETIAS France Personal Information

Basic personal information and passport details are required to successfully complete the online form. Travelers should have the following details to hand:
- Full name as it appears on the passport
- Contact details including current residential address and email address
- Date and place of birth
- Passport information such as the number and expiry date
In addition, Venezuelans are asked a series of health and security-related questions.
It is essential that all details provided are accurate and truthful, any errors, including spelling mistakes, may lead to ETIAS rejection.
This prescreening process is being introduced to increase security: any individual who may pose a threat can be blocked from entering the 26 Schengen Area countries.
Provided no red flags are raised the request will be approved and access to the Schengen Area granted.
Documents That I need for France ETIAS
To successfully complete the ETIAS for France online application, Venezuelan nationals require the following documents:
- Venezuela passport: this must be valid for at least 3 months from date of entry
- Debit or credit card: this is required to pay the ETIAS for France fees
- Current email address: the approved visa waiver will be sent to the email inbox
Venezuelan nationals are advised to double-check that the email address they supply works correctly, all correspondence and important notifications will be sent via email.
Medical Info for Venezuelans

Insurance policies that cover medical evacuation and hospital stays are recommended as Venezuelans in France may be required to pay for medical services before they are treated (with the exception of emergencies).
Venezuelans arriving in France with prescription medicines should ensure they are clearly labeled and kept in the original packaging.
Whilst there are no specific vaccine requirements for France, visitors should be up to date with all standard vaccinations, check with a healthcare professional well ahead of departure.
ETIAS Application for France for Venezuelans
ETIAS will become mandatory for Venezuelan nationals once it is launched towards the end of 2022. The waiver will complement the current visa liberalization policy, allowing Venezuelans to continue to visit France and other European nations visa-free.
Fortunately, ETIAS is efficient and straightforward. Fully online, the form and all supporting documents are submitted digitally for maximum convenience. ETIAS can be applied for from anywhere with an internet connection 24 hours a day, with no need to leave home.
As indicated above, the European Travel Authorization and Information System is obtained in 3 steps:
- Complete the online ETIAS for France application
- Pay the ETIAS fees and submit the form
- Receive the visa waiver by email
Venezuelan families traveling to France with children should be aware that minors will also need a valid ETIAS.
ETIAS for France is valid for tourism and business trips of up to 3 months (90 days) within a 180 day period. Individuals who wish to stay in France for longer may require a short or long-term visa.
For how long can Venezuelans visit France with ETIAS?
An approved ETIAS remains valid for 3 years or until the passport expires, whichever happens first. If the passport does expire a new ETIAS visa waiver must be requested.
Many Venezuelan sightseers in Europe opt to make the most of their trip by visiting several different countries. The great news is that the same ETIAS authorization can be used to travel throughout the Schengen area, it’s not necessary to request a different ETIAS for each destination.
Furthermore, ETIAS is a multiple-entry permit meaning that Venezuelans can leave Europe and re-enter as they wish as long as both the passport and ETIAS remain valid.
