Requirements for Taiwanese
Taiwanese citizens traveling to France from 2022 onwards will be required to obtain travel authorization with the new ETIAS visa waiver system.
Taiwan (officially the Republic of China or ROC) currently enjoys visa exemption for the Schengen Area of Europe. This means that ROC citizens may travel to any of the 26 member countries without a visa, including France.

The ETIAS for France for Taiwanese citizens will be available via a simple online application form.
Once approved, it will be valid for several years and will permit multiple entries to the Schengen countries, including France. Each stay can last up to 90 days.
Travelers from the ROC will have to meet the ETIAS requirements for Taiwanese citizens in order to obtain this authorization to visit France.
Documents that I need for the France ETIAS
ETIAS France requirements for Taiwanese travelers include several documents and items that must be provided as part of the online application. This most important of these is a valid passport issued by the Republic of China that will not expire for at least 3 months after the planned trip to France.
Taiwanese nationals going to France with ETIAS may also be required to provide the following documents at the French border:
- Proof of accommodation reservation
- Return or onward flight tickets
- Proof of sufficient funds to finance the trip
- Proof of insurance

Taiwanese nationals who wish to apply for ETIAS to visit France must provide some basic personal details and enter this information into the online form. This includes the traveler’s full name, passport data, and methods of contacting the applicant.
Prospective visitors from the ROC must also answer a few questions pertaining to health and travel history as part of a security screening check, which improves safety for all travelers to France.
When completing the online ETIAS application for France, Taiwanese citizens must enter the following information:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Nationality
- Passport number
- Dates of passport issue and expiry
- Contact email address and phone number
Medical info for Taiwanese nationals
The following vaccinations are also recommended for France by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Travel Health Network and Centre:
- Rabies
- Tick-borne encephalitis
- Tetanus
It is advisable to have travel insurance that will cover hospital stays and medical evacuation in the event of an accident or emergency while in France.
The French emergency services can be contacted by dialing 15 or 122 and requesting either an ambulance, police assistance, or the fire department.
ETIAS Application for France for Taiwanese
To apply for the ETIAS for France, Taiwanese nationals must complete the online application form.
There are also some additional ETIAS France requirements to meet. An active email address must be provided. The approved ETIAS will be sent to this account, as will all correspondence regarding the status of the application.
The Taiwanese applicant must also provide a valid method of payment (either a credit card or debit card) to cover the fee for the ETIAS for France.
Before submitting the ETIAS France application, the ROC traveler should double-check all the information they have entered into the form to make sure it is all completely accurate. Small errors and inconsistencies can lead to delays or even rejection of applications, so it is vital to check the answers before sending the form.
