France ETIAS Requirements for Georgian Citizens

Apply ETIAS France from Georgia

Starting from 2026, the ETIAS visa waiver for France will become available to Georgian citizens. The ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) will be required for all Schengen Area states, which includes France.

Georgians will be among the travellers who will require the ETIAS to visit France for short-term stays.

Georgian citizens are currently able to visit France and other Schengen Area countries without a visa for stays of up to 90 days, as long as they have a valid passport. With the launch of the ETIAS visa waiver, they will need to apply online before their trip.

ETIAS France Entry Requirements for Nationals of Georgia

Currently, nationals of Georgia can travel freely to France just with their passport. From 2026, they will require an approved ETIAS visa waiver, alongside their valid travel document. The ETIAS France for Georgians will be valid for tourism, business, short-term studies, or transit, and it will allow travellers to spend up to 90 days in a 180-day period in the Schengen Area.

Georgians who wish to stay longer than 90 days in France or are planning on taking residence in the country will also need a visa. There are different visa types available for Georgian travellers visiting France, each with specific requirements. However, independently of whether they travel for a short time visa-free or with a visa, all travellers will require a valid ETIAS.

In some cases, additional documentation may be necessary to enter France from Georgia. In particular, travellers may need to provide proof of sufficient funds for the duration of their stay.

How to apply for ETIAS France from Georgia?

The benefit of the ETIAS is that the application takes place entirely online, so there is no need for Georgian travellers to visit an embassy or consulate and stand in long lines to apply. Instead, they can easily fill in the application form in just 10 minutes from the comfort of their homes.

Once they have ensured they meet all the ETIAS France requirements, applicants from Georgia need to follow three simple steps:

  • Accurately fill in the ETIAS online application form in all its parts
  • Pay for the ETIAS processing fee by credit or debit card
  • Send the application for review

All relevant communications regarding the status of the ETIAS application, including the approved ETIAS, will be sent to applicants via email.

When filling in the online ETIAS France application form, travellers will need to provide the following details:

  • Applicant’s full name, nationality, and date of birth
  • Passport details, including number, date of issuance and expiry
  • Contact details, including home address, phone number, and email address
  • Travel plans
  • Answers to security questions

Once the application form is complete, Georgian travellers can submit it for review and expect to receive a confirmation email within 24 to 48 hours. To avoid delays, it is recommended to double-check all the information provided and make sure it is accurate and up to date.

Applications go through an automatic check against a set of databases. If everything is correct and no ETIAS security threats are detected, applications are approved almost immediately. However, if the system flags anything in an application form, this needs to go through manual processing, which may take longer.

To allow enough time for processing, Georgian travellers are encouraged to apply for the ETIAS France at least 72 hours before departure.

Medical Info for Georgians Visiting France

Although it is not a mandatory requirement for short-term visits, Georgians travelling to France should get medical insurance before their trip. Except for emergency services, travellers will need to pay for any kind of medical treatment. If they are unable to pay, they may be refused treatment.

In case of need, Georgian visitors can call the European emergency number 112, which is valid in all EU countries. Alternatively, they can contact the French Emergency Medical Assistance Service, by dialling 15.
