ETIAS Requirements for Emiratis travelling to France
Apply ETIAS France from United Arab EmiratesThe ETIAS visa waiver for France is being implemented to strengthen border security in the Schengen Area following a rise in safety threats in Europe. Similarly to nationals from more than 50 other countries, Emiratis traveling to France for tourism, leisure, business or medical purposes in 2026 onwards will be required to apply for an electronic ETIAS travel authorization.
ETIAS will grant a maximum of a 90-days stay within any 180-day period from the date of entering the Schengen Area. For longer stays with purposes such as studying, working, or living in France, there are several types of visas available. Travelers who need a visa must contact either the French Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Consulate General in Dubai.
ETIAS France requirements from United Arab Emirates
Visitors applying for an ETIAS France for Emiratis will be asked to provide some essential personal information, including:
- First and last name
- Gender
- Place and date of birth
- Nationality
- Passport number
- Country of passport
- Passport issue and expiry dates
- Contact information
In addition, UAE citizens will be asked several security related questions. All information given by applicants will be checked against security databases like SIS, VIS, Europol, Interpol, and the ETIAS watchlist. In case there is a match, the application will be processed manually by the ETIAS Central Team.
Documents for travel to France from UAE
When it comes to documents needed for the visa waiver application, there are several ETIAS France requirements for Emiratis. In order to apply for an ETIAS to visit France, Emirati nationals must be in possession of a passport with a validity of at least 3 months past the intended date of departure from France and the Schengen Area. Please note that passports older than 10 years will not be accepted as valid travel documents.
Additionally, an unexpired debit or credit card will be required for payment of the ETIAS fee online. Travelers will also need to have a current email address in order to receive all correspondence about the visa waiver, as well as the travel authorization itself.

Although there are no particular medical prerequisites for UAE nationals traveling to France, it is advisable to be up to date with any relevant vaccinations such as MMR or hepatitis, for example.
The French medical system can be very expensive for travelers. Emirati tourists should, therefore, have good medical/travel insurance coverage. Foreign visitors are usually required to pay for any medical services before they can receive treatment, with the exception of emergency cases. For emergency medical services in France, dial 122 for any type of emergency or 15 for life-threatening conditions.
Travelers from the United Arab Emirates should also verify that their prescription medications are legal in France. It is highly recommended to carry all medicines in their original, clearly labeled packaging along with the prescription.
ETIAS France application from United Arab Emirates
Applying for ETIAS travel authorization will be an easy online process. It will consist of a few simple steps:
- Complete the online application form on the ETIAS France website
- Pay for the ETIAS fee online through a secure payment system
- Submit the application and receive the travel authorization
The entire application process will take approximately 15 minutes from start to finish. It is important to note that citizens of all ages, including minors, must submit an individual application form.
Travelers must make sure to enter all information correctly in the application form. If the data provided contains errors, the authorization may be delayed or rejected. In case of rejection, candidates will be informed of the reason and instructed on how to proceed.
The ETIAS visa waiver processing time will be up to 72 hours, however, it is estimated that most applications will be approved within minutes. Once they obtain the approved ETIAS visa waiver for France, Emirati visitors will be able to travel to the French port of entry of their choice. The ETIAS must be printed out and presented alongside the passport on arrival at French customs and immigration. Subsequently, the ETIAS holder will be able to travel within France or one of the the Schengen member countries for up to 90 days.
