Requirements for Argentines
However, before you can plan your trip to France, it is important to note one major change that is coming soon.
In late 2022, it will be mandatory for citizens from Argentina to apply for the online ETIAS (visa waiver if they are planning to travel to France (as well as other Schengen Area countries). The ETIAS authorization is required for all Argentines traveling to France in order to better secure the European Union’s borders and reduce terrorist activity.
ETIAS France Personal Information
The process to obtain an ETIAS is simple and easy: applicants will need to enter a few pieces of information about themselves into the online application form.
The form is divided into different parts, which includes your personal information, passport information, contact details, and answering a few questions. The questions at the end of the form will ask about your health, security, and previous travel to Europe. These answers will then be checked against various EU databases in order to pre-screen applicants against any threats to security.
All applicants will be required to enter the following information:
- Contact details (address, phone number, email address)
- Passport number
- Passport date of issue
- Passport date of expiry
- Place of birth

Medical Info for Argentines
As any good traveler knows, it is important to be aware of medical information should anything happen abroad. Argentinian citizens who wish to travel to France are not required to have any specific vaccines to enter the country, but we recommend staying up to date with all of the necessary vaccines just in case.
It is recommended to obtain medical insurance (often called travel insurance) before traveling to France as a precaution. Travel insurance will take care of large medical bills that are incurred in case of an emergency, a hospital stay, or medical evaluation.
In France, travelers may be required to pay for their medical services before they can receive treatment. If you carry travel insurance, your provider may reimburse you after you fill out and submit a treatment form (also known as a “Feuille de Soins” in French). Unfortunately, those who are unable to pay for medical treatment in France may be refused treatment.
Travelers who are taking prescription medication are advised to check the legality of the medication(s) in France and to carry it in the clearly marked and original packaging along with the prescription order.
Before traveling to France, we recommend knowing the French Emergency Medical Services number in case of an emergency. You can reach them by dialing 15 or 122 to connect to an operator.
The ETIAS for France Online Application
The application takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete and requires only a few pieces of information from the applicant. On the form, you will need to fill out your personal details (first name, last name, nationality), passport information (passport number, date of issue, date of expiry), and contact information. At the end of the application, you will need to have a valid credit or debit card to pay the application fee.
Please make sure to use a valid email address when filling out the form. This is important because all correspondence regarding your France ETIAS will be sent there, including your approved authorization.
Likewise, it is important to go through the application and double-check to make sure the data you provided is accurate and valid. Finally, it is recommended that applicants print a copy of their ETIAS approval email letter to present at French border control when they arrive in the country.
